GIC Assistant Manager Exam Guide: All you need to know
India's General Insurance Corporation (GIC) is a state-owned company in India. It is located in Mumbai with a registered office and head office. India's General Insurance Company (GIC of India) conducts a GIC Assistant Manager exam for the position. GIC Assistant Director is among the most sought-after Indian Insurance Industry insurance tests. GIC carries out this recruiting test periodically for 'Assistant Managers,' (i.e., Generalist & Specialist) Scale I post vacancies.
You will be eligible for a job at GIC after qualifying for the GIC Assistant Manager Exam and can be hired as an Assistant Manager at the highly regarded General Insurance Corporation.

Eligibility Criteria:
Overall, there are two requirements on which a candidate's eligibility for the role of GIC Assistant Manager Exam is assessed- Age Limit and Educational Qualification. If you meet the conditions set by GIC for age and education then you are qualified to appear for the exam.
A. GIC Assistant Manager Age Limit (as per 21 August 2020)
- Minimum Age – 21 years
- Maximum Age – 30 years
- Relaxations in Upper Age Limit
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- PwD (Person with Disabilities) – 10 years
- and others as per Government norms.
B. Minimum requirements for GIC AM in education (as of 21 August 2020)
Graduates in Engineering/Finance/Commerce/Law/IT etc, with at least 60 percent aggregate scores in the General & OBC candidates' certificate exam & at least 55 percent marks for SC/ST applicants.
Total Vacancy:
Last year i.e. in 2019, GIC reported 25 vacancies for GIC Corporation's Assistant Manager role. The 2020 vacancies are yet to be announced later this year.
Application Process:
You can only apply for the GIC Assistant Manager Exam via Online mode. To apply for GIC AM Exam online for GIC of India, follow the steps below:
- You may register via General Insurance Corporation's official site.
- Application fees must be payed online using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking / Cash Cards / Wallets, etc.
- Use a valid email ID that is to remain active until results are announced.
- You will keep a scanned image and signature available as set out in the official notification.
- Send the Request Form.
- For reference purposes, take out the Print Off of the Application Form.

Admit Card:
Applicants who are successfully registered for the exam will be able to access their GIC exam admit card/call letter from the corporation's official website. The call letter from the GIC includes all essential details, such as the name of the candidate, the date of the exam, the time of the exam, and the address of the exam center. Candidates should preserve this admit card as they have to carry it for the examination. Without the admit card, candidates are not allowed to give the examination.
Salary Structure:
In addition to other allowances and benefits, the basic salary for the GIC 2020 Scale 1 Officers or Assistant Managers would be Rs 32, 795/- per month. The total gross salary of GIC Assistant Managers is around Rs. 59,000 Rs. per month.
