AFCAT 2 2020 Exam Analysis

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is held two times every year with the aim of recruiting candidates for the post of Flying Branch and Ground Duty (both technical and non-technical). It is a national level exam that witnesses lakhs of aspirants each year from all over India. Indian Air Force conducts this exam to recruit candidates that possess top skills.  AFCAT 2 Exam 2020 Highlights:

1. AFCAT 2 Exam was conducted from 3 to 5 October 2020.
2. The paper was conducted in two shifts each day i.e. Shift 1 and Shift 2. 
3. Candidates were supposed to bring their admit cards, photograph and original identification proof for the exam. 
4. Along with this, candidates should have an Aarogya Setu App installed on their mobile phones.  
5. It was observed that some of the exam centers did not follow the necessary safety guidelines while the majority of the centers followed the same. 

DAY 1: AFCAT 2 2020 Exam Analysis

As mentioned above, AFCAT Exam 2 was conducted in two shifts each day. On Day 1 i.e. on 3 October 2020, shift 1 was conducted from 9.45 am to 11.45 am in an online mode. A total of 100 questions were asked in the exam. Candidates are rewarded with 3 marks for each correct answer while one mark is deducted for each wrong answer. 

According to candidates, the paper was moderate. Let’s take a look at the detailed section-wise difficulty level below:

In the General Awareness Section, the difficulty level was moderate and candidates could answer 16-19 questions. 

In the Verbal Ability Section, the difficulty level was moderate and candidates could answer 16-18 questions.  

In the Numerical Ability Section, the difficulty level was moderate to difficult and candidates could answer 8-10 questions.

In the Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test Section, the difficulty level was moderate and candidates could answer 20-24 questions. 

DAY 1, Shift 2:

Shift 2 was conducted from 2.25 pm to 4.15 pm. Look at the section-wise difficulty level below:

In the General Awareness Section, the difficulty level was moderate. Candidates could attempt 17-19 questions. A majority of the candidates found this section easy. However, those who focused more on the Static GK found this section to be moderate. This is because only 2-3 questions were asked from current affairs. 

In the Verbal Ability Section, the difficulty level was moderate. A majority of the candidate found this section to be scoring and easy. Questions related to cloze test, RC, Error Detection, Idioms & phrases, etc were asked in the AFCAT exam 2. 

In the Numerical Ability Section, the difficulty level varied from moderate to difficult. Candidates found this section to be a mixture of easy and hard questions. Topics related to Time & Work, Average, Mixture & Allegations, Loss & Discount, profit, etc were asked. 

In the Reasoning and Military Aptitude section, the difficulty level was easy to moderate. The maximum number of questions were asked from verbal reasoning. Candidates could easily attempt 25-27 questions. Topics related to Analogy, Out one out, Pattern Completion, etc were asked in this section. 

DAY 2: AFCAT 2 2020 Exam Analysis:

The AFCAT Exam 2 for Day 2 was conducted on 4 October 2020. The timing of the paper (Shift 1) was from 9.45 am to 11.45 am respectively. According to candidates, the difficulty level was moderate and the questions were somewhat similar to the previous day’s paper.

In the General Awareness Section, the difficulty level was moderate to difficult. Candidates could attempt 10-15 questions here. 

In the Verbal Ability Section, the level was easy and candidates could easily answer 18-20 questions here. 

In the Numerical Ability Section, the level of difficulty was moderate. Candidates could attempt 14-16 questions easily. 

In the Reasoning and Military Section, the level of difficulty was easy to moderate leaning more towards the easy side. Candidates could attempt 25-28 questions here. 

DAY2, Shift 2: 

Shift 2 was conducted from 2.25 pm to 4.15 pm. According to candidates, some of the questions were similar to the previous shifts like Averages, Time Speed and Distance, Venn Diagram, etc. The General knowledge section was filled with questions related to static GK, sports and news.

In the General Awareness Section, the level of difficulty was moderate to difficult. Candidates could attempt 15-17 questions here. 

In the Verbal Ability Section, the level of difficulty was moderate. Candidates could attempt 14-16 questions here.

In the Numerical Ability Section, the level of difficulty was moderate. Candidates could attempt 12-14 questions here. 

In the Reasoning and Military Section, the level of difficulty was easy to moderate. Candidates could attempt 25-18 questions here. 

DAY 3: AFCAT 2 2020 Exam Analysis:

AFCAT 2 exam for Day 3 was conducted on 5 October 2020. The timing of the exam (Shift 1) was from 9.45 am to 11.45 am. The level of difficulty of Day 3 was moderate to difficult leaning more towards the difficult side. The Numerical aptitude was considered to be a bit difficult as some of the questions were tricky and had lengthy calculations.

DAY 3, Shift 2:
