What is JEE?

JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is a national level entrance exam conducted by the NTA(National Testing Agency) to offer admission to BE/BTech, BPlan and BArch courses at the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) and Autonomous Institutes across the country.

The examination is conducted in two phases viz., JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

JEE Mains is the first phase of the examination. Candidates clearing JEE Mains will only be eligible to appear JEE Advanced.

SYLLABUS 

The syllabus for JEE Main examination syllabus has been published on the official website. Before commencing with the preparations, candidates must know the detailed syllabus. Studying JEE Mains syllabus will help students to be acquainted about the topics of every subject that are important from JEE Main point of view.


CHANGE IN JEE MAINS PAPER PATTERN 

The authority has separated BPlan from BArch. The Number of papers will be 3 viz., BE/BTech, BArch & BPlanning.

The revised exam paper pattern includes Numeric Value Based Questions for all the 3 papers. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in such cases.

Planning based MCQs shall be added in the BPlanning paper.


BPLANNING EXAM PAPER PATTERN 

JEE Main BPlanning Paper is a 3-hour exam. The applicants will be tested on the basis of their aptitude, mathematics, and planning based problems. 

B.Planning Paper will have three sub-sections:

Part I : Mathematics [20 MCQs] + [5 Numeric value-based questions]

Marks allotted : 100

Part II : Aptitude Test [50 MCQs]

Marks allotted : 200

Part III : Planning Based Objective Type [25 MCQs]

Marks allotted : 100

TOTAL MARKS = 400


Marking Scheme :

  1. MCQs - +4 for the correct answer and -1 for any wrong answer
  2. NAT(Numerical Answer Type) questions - +4 for the correct answer, 0 for an incorrect answer


BPlanning Eligibility :

  1. Candidates must have passed class 12 in a minimum of 5 subjects.
  2. Applicants must have compulsorily studied a language along with Mathematics.
  3. Optional subjects studied by the candidates must be Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, and Technical-Vocational.
  4. The candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination
  5. There is no age limit for appearing in the JEE Main examination. Candidates who have passed or are appearing for class 12th exam in 2020, are eligible for appearing in the exam, irrespective of the age limit.

Note: Paper Pattern for BE/BTech and BArch remain the same.


JEE 2020 EXAM DATES

Due to the widespread pandemic, the JEE 2020 examination has been rescheduled. 

JEE Main will now take place from September 01 to 06, 2020.

JEE Advanced will be held on September 27, 2020.


JEE Main 2020 Admit card

The dates of downloading of Admit Cards indicating Roll Number and Centre of Examination will 

be displayed 15 days before the conduct of examination on the official websites of NTA 

( www.nta.ac.in ) and JEE(Main) ( jeemain.nta.nic.in ).


JEE Main Mock Test

NTA (National Testing Agency) has set up practice centers (TPCs) of JEE Main Mock Test to help the candidates with exam preparation. The registration process for appearing in the mock test is free of cost. Candidates who wish to appear for the mock tests will have to register themselves on the official website of NTA.

Only applicants who register themselves will be able to avail this facility.

Registrations if JEE Mains 2020 has been closed.
