DU PG Entrance: Complete Exam Overview
The DU PG Entrance (also known as DUET) is conducted every year by the Delhi University to offer admissions to candidates into various postgraduate programs. Exam Pattern:
The Exam Pattern for the DU PG Exam is as follows-
- It is an Online based Examination.
- The duration of the exam is for 2 hours where the mode of questions is based on MCQs.
- The Total Number of Questions asked in the examination is 100.
- For each wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted.
Exam Syllabus:
The Exam syllabus for each stream differs for the DUET. The Delhi University Releases the exam syllabus every year on the official portal. Along with the syllabus, mock tests are also released for the candidates to prepare better for the examination.

Eligibility Criteria:
There is no age limit to apply for the DU PG Entrance. A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the respective field for which they are willing to apply.
Application Process & Fees:
The online application date for this year i.e. 2020 is 18th July 2020 (extended). The application form is available on the online portal of Delhi University. To apply, candidates have to first register to their online portal, fill the necessary details, upload the photographs and pay the application fees. There is no option provided by the DU to apply offline for the examination.
The application fees for SC/ST/PWD/EWD is Rs 350 for per course. Whereas the application fees for General/OBC/others are Rs 750 per course. The mode of payment is Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI or Net Banking.
Admit Card:
The Admit Card for the Entrance is available online on the portal of the Delhi University. Candidates should log in using their credentials and then download their admit cards. Note that candidates are required to carry their Admit cards along with a Photograph and valid identity proof during the exam.
Mode of Admission:
There are two modes of admissions to the DU PG i.e. Merit-Based and Entrance exam. The Merit-Based admissions are only for those candidates who have already completed their undergraduation from Delhi University. 50% of seats are available for these candidates. On the other hand, 50% of seats are available for candidates appearing through the Entrance exam. Candidates from universities other than Delhi University are eligible to appear for the DU PG Exam.
Note that an interview/group discussion is held after the candidate has cleared the entrance to evaluate them further. Selected Candidates are further called to the university to submit their documents for verification.
Merit List:
The Delhi University releases a maximum of three merit lists on its online portal. The cutoffs will also be displayed in separate lists based on the caste categories and different courses.
PG Courses Offered:
Delhi University offers various PG courses to candidates such as M.Com, M.A, L.L.M, MBA, M.Tech, M.Sc and PGDCA.
Candidates can choose any of these courses and specialize in that particular field.
