Employees State Insurance Corporation is an insurance company that conducts the ESIC Recruiting Test. It was established on 25 February 1952. The organization offers Indian workers social security and medical insurance schemes. ESIC conducts an annual ESIC SSO Exam to recruit qualified candidates for Social Security Officer (SSO) post. ESIC SSO Eligibility Criteria:


One must be informed about the full eligibility requirements before one chooses to apply for the ESIC SSO test. If an applicant does not meet the eligibility requirements, he/she cannot apply for the exam. ESIC SSO notification should include the full requirements for the qualification and age requirement for the exam. We have jotted down the eligibility criteria below:


Educational Qualification:


Applicants applying for the ESIC SSO test should have the qualifications required before continuing with the online application process. An applicant eligible for the ESIC SSO exam must have a Bachelor's degree from an acknowledged university and a proper understanding of database and office suites. However, candidates belonging to Commerce/Management/Law will be given preference. Any other requirement will be modified if necessary, once the official ESIC SSO notice is out.


Age Criteria:


An applicant should adhere to any requirement specified in the official notification. In addition to the academic qualifications, an applicant should be below the age limit as indicated in the official ESIC SSO notification. A candidate must be between the ages of 21 and 27 as the date specified in the official notification of ESIC SSO. This age is for the general category.


Age Relaxation:


ESIC SSO provides relaxation for some applicant groups such as SC / ST / OBC, etc in the upper age limit. More info is given in the table below-

ESIC SSO 2020 Total Vacancy:


Vacancies: There are a total of 539 vacant positions for ESIC SSO 2020.


Reservations: SC / ST and OBC applicants will earn reservations.


ESIC SSO 2020 Application Process:


It is really important to fill in the application online for ESIC SSO. If an applicant fills in the incorrect details or he/she is not informed of the online application process for ESIC SSO then his/her application will be canceled. Below are the detailed steps for filling the online application form.


  1. Visit the official ESIC website: https://www.esic.nic.in/
  2. Click on the registration link and fill out the details needed.
  3. Login and password will be created which the applicant will use to fill out the ESIC SSO application form online.
  4. Fill in the application form with the necessary details and verify all information is filled appropriately.
  5. When the application form for the ESIC SSO has been filled out no change can be made afterward. 
  6. All documents requested for upload should be posted in the format as stated in the official notification to the ESIC SSO.
  7. The final move is to pay the ESIC SSO application fee online. 
  8. Make a payment and retain a safe copy of the receipt produced for future use.

Note that the application fees for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/Females is Rs 250. While for General and other caste categories is Rs 500.


ESIC SSO Admit Card:


All qualified candidates must download their call letter from the official site by entering their Registration Number / Roll Number and Password / Birthdate. The hard copies of the call letter/knowledge handout are not sent to the individual candidate via post/courier.


ESIC SSO Salary Structure:


ESIC SSO has very strong promotional chances based on the success of a candidate. The successful applicants recruited for the ESIC SSO will receive a monthly salary of Rs 44900/ as updated in the 7th pay commission. Besides being eligible for DA, HRA, and other allowances are provided along with ESIC SSO salary by the organization.


ESIC SSO 2020 Selection Process:


ESIC SSO selection process will consist of Step 1 (Preliminary Qualifying Examination), Step 2 (Main Examination), and Step 3 (Computer Skill Test & Qualifying Descriptive Test). There will be 1⁄4-mark negative for any incorrect answer provided by electors.


Applicants are chosen based only on the marks acquired in Step 2 (Main Examination). The Competitive test will be carried out online according to the examination scheme (pattern) provided below.


Step 1 – Preliminary


English Language test (30 Questions) – 30 Marks (20 min) 

Reasoning Skill (35 Questions) – 35 Marks (20 min) 

Quantitative Aptitude (35 Questions) – 35 Marks (20 min)


Step 2 – Main 


Reasoning / Intelligence (40 Questions) – 60 Marks (35 min) 

General / Economy/ Financial / Insurance Knowledge (40 Questions) – 40 Marks (20 min) 

English (30 Questions) – 40 Marks (30 min) 

Quantitative Aptitude (40 Questions) – 60 Marks (35 min)


Step 3 – Computer Skill Test and Descriptive Test 


Computer Skill Test (CST) – 50 Marks (30 min) 

The CST will consist of three sections as follows: 

Preparation of 02 PowerPoint Slides -10 Marks 

Typing matter on MS Word with the layout – 20 Marks 

Preparing the table on MS Excel using formulae – 20 Marks


Descriptive test: 


English (Letter Writing and Essay Writing) – 02 

Questions with a maximum duration of 50 Marks (30 min)

ESIC SSO Exam Pattern 2020:


The ESIC SSO Exam Pattern is as follows:

Structure: The 2020 ESIC recruitment will be carried out online i.e. On March 8, 2020, Computer-based Test (CBT). ESIC Exam 2020 is carried out in two stages. Candidates are expected to pass the ESIC 2020 Selection Exam to clear all two tiers/phases. The Test Pattern details for the ESIC Recruiting 2020 exam are given below:


Papers: 


  1. Paper-1 will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) of an objective type for 200 marks for a duration of 2 hours. 
  2. Paper-2 will have a total of 30 minutes with 50 lines.


Cut Off:


The cutoff marks for the test are not usually calculated and may not even be predicted until the test is carried out. After the test, people may seek to predict the type of paper-Quick, Moderate or Difficult, and the cutoff may be calculated in combination with the vacancies available. But, the threshold may or may not be the same as the actual test.

So, the best solution is to work hard, and then hope for the best.
